Meet Our Neurodiversity-Affirming Therapy Team

At Neurodiversity Aware Counselling, our team provides neurodiversity-affirming therapy for autistic and other neurodivergent individuals, couples, and families. Many of our counsellors are neurodivergent themselves and bring lived experience alongside professional training, creating a warm and supportive environment grounded in genuine understanding. Through our Neurodiversity-Aware Therapy® approach, we offer thoughtful, empathetic counselling to help clients navigate relationships, identity, and life’s challenges with confidence and self-acceptance.

About Our Founder, Dan Spring

Dan is a BC Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and the visionary behind Neurodiversity Aware Therapy®

Inspired by a personal journey, beginning with his son’s learning challenges over 20 years and informed by his own lived experience, Dan integrated Neurodiversity Aware Therapy from three well-researched counselling modalities.

With extensive experience in alternative supports and a Master’s degree focused on neurodiversity, Dan is currently doing a doctorate with research into neurodiversity and autism at Royal Roads University.

Dan's research is recognized as vital to better outcomes for neurodivergent people and is funded by the government of Canada, Royal Roads University, and the Mitacs Accelerate Program. Dan's research has won numerous doctoral awards including most potential for impact, communicating research ideas, and best articulated research problem.
